It is that year of understanding birthdays and we wanted to make sure Nora felt so special. Blair was really into it this year too and I couldn't have been prouder of what a special big sister she was. Although she was jealous, she just controlled her emotions to make the day all about Nora and it was just the sweetest thing to see. We started out the day with a special wakeup. We all waited in the hall so we could see her. She got her first birthday goody bag (a Kimpel family tradition of fun items) and opened a game from Blair. Then to start a day-of-fun! We went to donuts, a park with cement slides, lunch at Beach Hut, the mall for build-a-bear (and the animal ride-ons AND the trampoline jump) and then to Red Robin for dinner with the family.
The cement slides were somewhere Mom and Dad went as kids so that was fun to show them for the first time. At build-a-bear she made a Baby Honey doll since she loves her so much and you can't buy it. It was Daddy's brilliant idea and Mommy sewed the outfit to match. We were pretty excited for that part of the day with her. Dinner with our family was wonderful and Nora was so happy to just rub all over baby Miles. When they sang Happy Birthday she was ok at first and then started getting nervous and just reached over to hold my hand for it, so sweet! It was a really fun day of making Nora's dream day come true. It is not often we can or should say yes to everything but it sure is fun when you can... they girls were AMAZING all day (who wouldn't be when you don't get told no right?!)
