"Naptime"

We recently got a video monitor.  It is interesting to see Blair do some activities while she is "napping"

Jumping
Playing with her music box
playing with blankets
rolling around and babbling
full on jumping and diving and spinning

she averages almost an hour of playtime in there before she falls asleep!

Action Shots

I took some videos while Blair and I were outside playing one night. It started with this video because she was spinning in circles and it was so funny, I love her windup arms.

Once she heard me watching it she found it really funny to watch herself so I took advantage.  I have tried many times to get her animal sounds on camera and she never wants to perform on command.  Finally I got her to do a ton of them and I couldn't even remember more!

I also tried to get her running, she is still a spastic runner.  She usually either throws her arms out all over the place or rubs her chest.  It's pretty cute!

Finally, a little putting lesson from her.  This little club Jason made her by cutting his down (well he actually made it for a friends kid at our house one time).

Yes she was full of "Cheese" this day!

Water Park

We met some friends at the Roseville Aquatics Complex to play at parent tot time.  Unfortunately it wasn't very warm outside at the time and the water was frigid!  Somehow the kids don't seem to mind as much as we do.  It was a really cool little place, basically a playground in a shallow pool!

 no Blair, we go down!
She was very interested in the slide but couldn't figure out how to get it.  Finally I went up to help and a friend caught her at the bottom, she liked it!

She played for a while but once we stopped for a snack that is all she was interested in from there on out.  I couln't really blame her, eating and laying in the sun is more my style too!  She was happy to sit on my foot and eat crackers while people watching!

Birthday party at the splash pad

Blair was invited to Hunter's second birthday party at a splash pad/park.  At first she was not going to go in the water without me (and I wasn't going in clothed!) but she eventually went in and had some fun.  She had a great time and wasn't a crankyface like she was at the last birthday party we went to.  She also really enjoyed the little playgroud at this park too, we will definitely have to go back there.  There are a lot of pictures of her running around but I couldn't pick with all the cute faces and chuby leg cuteness going on!

She enjoyed the cupcakes... as soon as she saw them she yelled "cake!" and everyone laughed.  I don't know how she learned that word SO quickly! I even let her have the frosting this time since we were outside and she was in her bathing suit!

It was like I have never fed her!

She changed out of her suit to go home and she got this cute little goody bag pail with some fun toys.

Summer Life!

I am loving being on summer break and spending so much time with my little cutie!  We have a jammed packed schedule because I like to be busy and I think Blair does too!  We have gym on Mondays, Story time on Tuesdays, and Music class on Thursdays.  We have other play dates and pool time planned too!

This past Monday, we started the morning off with breakfast and playtime but Blair decided to help me clean too!

Who doesn't love a little naked ride on the zebra after your morning shower?
All ready to head off to gymnastics class!
We had fun at gymnastics class, we need to work on actually jumping on the trampoline.  We went to Target too and then came home for some lunch and naptime.

After some playtime and dinner we went to get groceries.  Blair immediately saw this cart while we were walking up and proclaimed the "bus" to be hers!  It was actually easier to push than I expected and she enjoyed rolling around the store screaming "beep beep" at people.

After we got home it was time for a quick wagon ride with a Straw-boo snack before bedtime!

All in a summer's day!

Girls pics with Graham

When we went to take the D.A.D pics, Aunties and Mimi met us there with baby Graham.  We attempted to take some cousin pictures but were also trying to keep Graham unharmed so this is what we got.

"Dude, try to sit up on your own and smile... like ME!"
"and let this be a warning, get in my way and I will knock you down"
"I will smile one more time and then get this thing OFF of me!"

While we were there we took advantage of a pic with Mimi, none of us planned/dressed for this but I still love it!

 The best Mimi!

I also took a few with my little bug!

Blair had fun in the mini-wagon we brought for Graham but he was too big... but she obviously fit!

she also was happy to push the stroller!

Father's Day 2012

We had a very nice father's day.  Blair made a special gift for her daddy! He loved it.

She is a total Daddy's girl.  From the minute she wakes up she asks for him and I will be playing with her and she will stop and say, "Daddy?"  It has become the joke that when she says it her Daddy says, "shhhh, not in front of mommy, it hurts her feelings" haha.  It is true though, I feel like chopped liver but I also adore that she loves her daddy so much.  She and I are so lucky to have him.  Not all daddy's are so involved with their children but Jason is always there for her, loving her and making her laugh like nobody else can.  When they cuddle or she gives him kisses it is just the cutest thing I have ever seen.

We went over to Mimi and Papa's house for a BBQ after nap time.  She loved to swim in the pool and play in "M&P Park."

I brought my camera but never took it out.  When we got home she was super tired so this is the picture I got:

I shook the keys and she did this:

Bad mommy for not capturing more pictures but we were just having too much fun!

We love you Daddy!

18 Months

Blair you are a feisty little girl! You continue to amaze us with how smart you are and make us laugh every day!

Some information:

1. You have your doctor checkup later this week but I measured you at 27 pounds and 33 inches. You wear size 24 month and 2T clothing and a size 6 shoe!

no wonder you are so big, burrito lover!

2. You talk like crazy and your words are getting clearer. You can tell us what you want and it is really nice. You have a habit of repeating/yelling what you want 30 times in a row until you get it though. You are actually pretty understandable but of course have some of your own language that we find just adorable. Here are some of your "words":

            Strawberry: Straw-Boo

            Clock: you forget the l!

            Music: See-cah

            Open: Ip-Ee

Pretty: Pitty, Pitty, Pitty (must be said 3 times)

Outside: Owe-Sigh (although this one is getting better now)

Bless You: you are polite when people sneeze and say, Bess-OOO with a majorly cute emphasis on the You!

Turn: You say this great, just a lot and loudly!  We think you think it means, “NO GIVE IT TO ME NOW!”

Laptop: you have a play laptop you love and call: Yap-Op

Please: Peas

Wagon: Waggy

Drink: Geek

Close: Toes

Eat: deet

I am sure there are many more but these are just some very commonly used ones!

3. You are so sweet at times and so stubborn at others. We have had to start a few time-outs although you don't really get it yet and I have to try so hard not to laugh because you are so cute. I better learn to be immune to your smiles or I am in trouble!

4. You are getting more interested in the dogs and you like to chase them around and unfortunately, hit them with your toys. You call them Peh-Ee and Sin-Son, Daddy and I think Sin-Son is especially adorable when you say it and we call him that now too!

5. You are LOVING music. You always ask for the "See-cah" in the car and you get so mad if it isn't turned on instantly! It is nice though because it keeps you happy and you used to hate riding in the car but I guess this makes in bearable for you. You "sing" a few songs, ABCs is "Ahh, ehh, ooo," Old McDonald is "eeh-I, eeh-I" and Row Row Row your boat is, "row, row boat." You still love for us to sing Wheels on the Bus and If You're Happy and you Know it. We start music class this week and I think you are going to LOVE it!

6. You still love to read and we are even starting to read non-board books that are longer (Mommy is enjoying the new stuff). We always read and sing before bed together and I absolutely love it! You ask for books all the time and bring them to us. At library story time you yell, "Book" even if it isn't time yet and as soon as they put the book away.

7. You have some stranger anxiety/shyness but it isn't too bad. Mommy likes it a little because you get all cuddly up with me and I love that time! You warm up to people pretty quickly though once they are around for a few minutes and you still love the MEN!

8. You are getting some hair in. It is completely unruly and I can't do anything with it. When there is any wind or if you run, it blows up like a bad toupee on the top. We call it "The Trump"

see the resemblance( I wish I had a better picture of it really going!):

From the back with bed head:

9. You are quite bossy.  You will tell whoever you want to “Sit” and “Play” and you will grab our hand and yell “pull” until we come with you.

10. As was before, your animal sounds and body part naming is top notch.  You are getting pretty good with your colors.  You can mostly point to the right one if I ask for “the red ball” but you still have trouble with “what color is this?”  Yellow and green seem to be your favorite to say no matter what color it is.  You are actually really good with pink too but struggle with Red and Orange.  You know 3 shapes most of the time, circle, heart, and star.  We need to work on your numbers.  You can count “Two!” and by that I don’t mean up to two I mean you actually only say the number 2… ever!  It is quite funny.

We love you Blair Bear!
