Laugh Always, Play Often, Love Completely: Blair 3.5

Blair is always asking if I can measure her on the growth chart to see if she is bigger. She wants to be a big girl so badly. So I hadn't told her that her 3.5 year birthday would be coming up because I knew she would want a party, presents and all the hoopla we could give her. So on the day I mentioned to her that you are now 3 and a half and when people ask you should tell them that now. She was SO excited about it and she definitely lets people know that she is NOT 3. Daddy took her to get some ice cream to celebrate too!

Things about Blair:

She is SO girly. She only wants to wear dresses so I finally got the hint and don't buy other things to make it easier. We have a couple of outfits from last year that she wears if she needs shorts for some reason. She wants to get dressed immediately when she wakes up and then she comes down the stairs with this funny look on her face and we know its her "tell me how pretty I look" face. I do her hair and she puts her jewelry and shoes on and then she goes and looks in the mirror and talks to herself or tells me she looks "stylish." Oh boy what have we done!
Blair is so independent now in both what she can do and that she wants to do it "BY MYSELF!" She is potty independent, she gets undressed and dressed alone and she plays SO well on her own now. She will play by herself for about an hour with her toys. She no longer takes naps so this is great because she just has her afternoon quiet time in her room.
She is very creative in so many ways. She is so great at pretend play and just loves it whether it be dressing up herself and putting on shows or the stories I try to overhear with her toys. She loves singing, dancing, arts and crafts of all kinds and dress up.
She's incredibly smart and more interested in learning now. She can write her name and also other things if I write them for her to copy. She is incredible at sounds of letters and we love to play the "What does ______ start with?" game and she almost always gets them right. She loves to recognize and make patterns, is interested in math (can count to 20 but skips 15) including adding and subtracting, and she just loves to ask questions ( A LOT of questions) and learn new things all the time. She still amazes us daily with what she says and how much she knows and the words she uses. She is always listening to us so we have to be careful because all of a sudden she will pop in with "what did you just say" or "what are you guys talking about" when we think she wasn't listening.
Blair is very emotional in good and bad ways. She is SO loving and isn't afraid to let people know. She loves to kiss and cuddle and tell people she loves them and it is the best feeling ever. She makes people happy and feel loved and we need people like her. She can't wait to make new friends all the time because she just wants to be with other people and have fun. She also shows her happiness and other emotions easily too. It can be tough though because she also lets them control her behavior often and she has a hard time relaxing and using her words when she gets herself worked up. Some of this is age and some is just her "let it all out there" personality.
Oh.The.Drama... I don't know where she gets it but this girl is a drama queen in the good ways and the bad. It is funny and it is difficult but I love it all.
Laughs all around all the time because this girl is learning well from Daddy. She is already telling jokes and she will say things just because she knows we will laugh and it is so awesome that she can do that already. Even not trying Blair is hilarious!
She is polite and complimentary and it makes me so proud when she says "thank you" or "you look so pretty today" to everyone and you can see their face light up. She is really just such a good kid. She listens, she cares, she wants to help, she wants to learn, she wants to do great things and I know she will!
